Summer Reading

Evening!

I'm super late with my design team post for Tuesday Throwdown today.

I've had a manic couple of days!  But anyway on with business...

This week our theme at Tuesday Throwdown is Summer Reading and we are asking you to base your entry on your favourite book!

We have had a real treat as the super generous people at Lawn Fawn -our sponsors have given us some clear stamps to use.  Now normally I'm not a fan of clear stamps - but these really are fabulous. I'm not great at stamping and normally have to have a couple of goes before I get anything half decent - but these really are amazing - I was even confident enough to stamp directly onto the card - something I would normally never do!!

So here's my card:

Quite simple - but for a reason:

This is just 5 - I need to make about 20!! - My plan is to vary the colour of the jar on each one - I've done all the shades of pink for now and plan to do purple, yellow and orange.  Our WI has just entered loads of craft items in to a local show and everyone has put lots and lots of hard work in.  So I am making one for everyone who helped out!

(Dawn - one of these will be for you - but ssssshhhh till next week!)

Anyway what have these got to do with a book?  Well they reminded me of Pollyanna where she takes all the different jars to Mrs Snow as she always wants something different than what is brought.  I used to read that book all the time when I was little.

I'd like to enter these cards into the following challenges:

Paper Creators Crafts - Anything Goes
Wags and Whiskers - Anything Goes
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Kaboodle Doodles - Anything Goes
Love to Create - Book or Reading

Thanks for looking!

Stampin' For The Weekend - Monochrome

Happy Friday and Bank Holiday Weekend!

Hope you've all got something nice planned for the weekend.

Today we have a new challenge over at Stampin' For the Weekend and the theme is monochrome!

We have a fabulous sponsor as always and this fortnight it's Saturated Canary.

I really do love these images and I chose Ellie's Birthday, you should see what my teamies have done - they're just fab!

I've also treated myself to a nice set of new nesties. (I think it's timeless rectangles - I can't be bothered getting up off the sofa to check!!)  Although the large frame doesn't cut very well. I don't know if it's because it faulty or fiddly. I had to use a couple of layers of card to thicken it up a bit and really crank my poor old big shot so if you have any tips / yours works fine feel free to let me know!

I also suspect I'm pushing the boundaries of monochrome with a bit of pink thrown in there - but pink is just a shade of red isn't it!

I hope you can come and join us!

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Crafty Ribbons Challenge - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Tie it Up
Shelly's Images - Show us What You Got
Fab N Funky - Use Ribbon or Lace
I Love Promarkers - Anything Goes
Perfect Sentiment - Anything Goes
Whimsy Stamps - Anything Goes

Smell the roses!

Evening all!

It's just a short post from me this evening as I am running very late with this weeks Tuesday Throwdown post!  Our theme this week is "Smell the Roses" so we really want to see your flowers - on the paper or perhaps added as embellishments.

We have a fab sponsor - Pink Cat Studio!

For the first time I have used a pre-coloured image. I didn't mean to - I had coloured my image and put it too one side to finish the card later on.  But somehow it ended up with a paw print on it, I was already running late - but then I had a brain wave and remember we had been given some beautiful pre-coloured images to work with.  They are just fab - especially when you are running short of time. I am a convert!

I use my favourite Sakura Star Dust pen to add some sparkle to the image but the camera hasn't picked it up - it's so beautiful!

I do hope you can join us for our challenge, why not pop on over to Tuesday Throwdown and get inspiration from my teamies!

I'll be back tomorrow to add some challenges as I'm off to bed now!

Hugs

Happy Birthday Ben!

Hello!

This weekend my little Ben was 3!  We had a lovely day and took him and his sister to the theatre to see their favourite TV presenters in a show.  They had a great time - Ben was especially pleased when they asked if anyone in the audience had a birthday and then sung happy birthday to him!

Here's the card I made for him:

I had a bit of an accident with the image and chopped of the corner. So I quickly covered it up the the square and put and M on it's side to make a 3! The balloon and candles are from the pound shop and the paper is First Edition - Animal Antics.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Catch the Bug - Anything Goes
MAWTT - One for the guys
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything Goes
Crafting Musketeers - Anything Goes
Our Creative Corner - Anything Goes
Crafting When We Can - Personalise it!
